Zyban and Weight Loss
It's
possible that Zyban and weight loss may go hand in hand. There
have been clinical trials of Burproprion that show that this active
ingredient in Zyban and Wellbutrin may very well contribute to
increased weight loss when part of a lowered calorie diet coupled with
exercise. And while these trials may show that
Bupropion can help lose weight, Zyban is a lower dosage pill than what
was being taken in these trials. The trials were based on
higher dosages, in the range prescribed as Wellbutrin. Zyban
weight loss claims are few and far between. Mainly because Zyban is
taken as a smoking cessation aid, and many people gain weight when they
quit smoking. Now, some of the trials for Zyban show that
those who took Zyban had decreased weight gain... So,
Yeah, It is possible that Zyban and weight loss could go
together. But since your doctor should only be prescribing
this medication for smoking cessation, the odds of seeing weight loss
on Zyban are decreased. In fact, weight loss on
Zyban is considered a potential Side Effect and the instructions that
are given to you with your prescription specifically mention that if
you experience weight loss on Zyban, then you should consult with your
physician immediately. The potential side effects of
Bupropion are great enough, that even the FDA feels that this is a
dangerous enough substance that it should only be used under a doctor's
care. Of course, if you find a doctor that would
prescribe Zyban for weight loss... My recommendation would to
be to run the other way. While weight loss by taking Zyban is possible, there is no substitute for a decreased calorie and
increased exercise regiment for weight loss. Philip Kustner Head for the top of Zyban and Weight Loss Go learn more
