Jenny Craig Diet Plan
Is
the Jenny Craig diet plan a reasonable way to lose weight?Well,
on the surface, it looks like a really interesting program that may
actually be able to help some people reach their weight loss goals. Jenny
Craig Inc has been around since 1983. It was started by Jenny and her
husband Sidney, after they had struggled with their own weight issues. The
Jenny Craig Weight Loss Program is based around helping their clients
develop the following principles.
- A Healthy
Relationship with Food
- An Active Life Style
- A
Balanced approach to Living
In adhering to these
principles, the Jenny Craig diet plan is based around decreasing
calorie intake, controlling portion size, increased exercise, and
looking at yourself and finding what causes you to over eat, and not
exercise enough.Hmmm, Sounds an awful like

Craig MealsJenny Craig Meals are the corner stone of the
Jenny Craig Diet Program. The company offers more than 75 different
Frozen and Shelf stable meal entree's, which are a required part of
your weight loss contract. You will need to purchase 3 meals and 2 to 3
snacks a day from the Jenny Craig line until you have reached 50% of
your agreed upon weight loss goal.
Cost of Jenny
Craig DietThe the Jenny Craig Meals are the biggest cost of
the Jenny Craig Diet. At $11 to $17 per day, a month of food will cost
you between $330 and $527 per month. Since the shortest special you can
do is the $20 for 20 pounds which gives you 3 months of consultations,
that would put you at $1,110 to $1,601 over 3 months. The
other programs range from $200 to $400 for one year of consultations +
the cost of food. If you found a need to stay on this program for a
full year, that would put the cost of the Jenny Craig Diet at $4215 to
$6605 over the course of a year. Keep in mind that at the
point where you are halfway to reaching your goal on the jenny craig
diet plan, you will begin to buy your own food and cook on your own a
couple of days a week, and even on the Full meal schedule, you are
still buying perishables like fruit and milk. Since the
average person spends about $55 per week on food, costing $2680, that
makes the cost of the Jenny Craig diet rather steep. The
Jenny Craig Diet Program comes in multiple flavors. There is
the "special" 'where you get so many pounds for so many dollars, "plus
food". These usually run at about 3 months of program help. Then
you move to the Jenny TuneUp for those who only want/need to lose 10
pounds, at $50 + food Followed with the Jenny OnTrack system
that runs $200 for 6 months of help, plus food. And if you
feel you REALLY need some help, you can get on the Jenny Rewards
program which will cost you around $400 for the first year, and about
$40 each year there after, with a rewards system of decreased pricing
on food after a certain point, and even refunds of some of the costs
when you reach certain milestones. These programs
can be done with weekly weigh ins, consultations, and food sales at
your local Jenny Craig Diet Center, or the foods can be shipped by
mail, with your consultations being done over the phone. The
Jenny Craig weight loss program appears to be reasonably balanced in
the foods that you are told to eat. With emphasis on increasing the
amount of exercise you get, and getting rid of the sugars, candies and
sodas we all have a love/hate relationship with. If
you feel a need to have someone hold your hand throughout the process,
and can stomach eating boxed foods for an extended period of time... The
Jenny Craig Diet Plan is a reasonable way to go. Many will
find the cost of the Jenny Craig Diet to be a bit painful though. But
if it gets you the results, then the money may be worth it to you. If
you are looking for real Jenny Craig sucess, then you will need to
really stick to the Jenny Craig Diet Plan that they lay out for you, and take it to
the next level on your exercise regime. And as you transition out of
the boxed foods that will be required for the first half of your
program, you will find that the 7 habits laid out here will be of great
benefit to keeping your goals of both loss and maintenance. Weigh in on the Jenny Craig Weight Loss Program, and see what others have written. Philip Kustner
