Looking
at a Guarana Weight Loss Pill?
If
you are looking at a Guarana weight loss pill, you might want to get to
know a little more about what you are really taking.A
guarana weight loss tablet has as its primary active ingredient,
caffeine. Though, of course, they are going to throw in some other
"natural" herbs for their health or weight loss value. What?
Caffeine? you ask... Yes, that's right that Oh so wonderful
seed that everyone is putting in energy drinks is really just a more
potent source of caffeine. The
real reason that any
marketing company points out that their product has Guarana, is because
they can up the caffeine content of their product by listing guarana as
an ingredient without having to label the fact that they are simply
adding caffeine. Sure, there are a couple of other minor nutrients in
this seed plant, including being a nice source of vegetable fiber. If
you are going to take a guarana diet pill, you might as well just drink
a couple of cups of coffee per day without sugar and cream. It will
save you a lot of money. Heck, some unscurpulous
manufacturers of guarana weight loss pills will even use a tiny amount
of guarana root or bark so that they can put this magic name on their
label, and then supplement the caffeine content by adding straight
caffeine taken from the coffee bean since it is cheaper. What
really scares me are the guarana diet tablets that have Ma Huang as
well. Because this just comes down to taking caffeine and an
amphetamine (Ephedrine). Ok, so both of them come from "natural"
sources, but so do the refined versions you buy in sodas (caffeine) and
from street dealers (amphetamines). What are the
dangers of brazilian guarana? The dangers of brazilian
guarana, are really no more than the dangers of caffeine. You
shouldn't take stimulants if you have cardiac problems or high blood
pressure. The recognized potentially fatal dose of caffeine is
10 grams of pure caffeine. Given a content of 5-8% maxing out at 10%,
you'd be putting yourself in danger by eating 100 Grams of seeds at
once. There are forumulations of Guarana Extracts (pills, gels)
that can get as high as 350 mg in a dose. So, yes, there are
dangers of brazilian guarana. In General, a guarana
weight loss pill, is "Probably" safe, but it really depends on your
physical condition, how your body reacts to caffeine, and how
trustworthy your source is. Now is a guarana weight
loss tablet a magical way to lose weight? No. Clinical
Studies have shown that guarana diet pills may be slightly effective in
terms of short term increases in weight loss as part of a decreased
calorie and increased activity program. But the body quickly becomes
accustomed to the increased caffeine level, and it loses its
effectiveness in a short period of time. The side
effects of guarana, are the same as caffeine. Jitteryness,
irritability, increased heart rate, difficulty sleeping, etc... So,
is the increased cost of adding a guarana weight loss pill to your diet
regiment worth it? Probably not, due to the short term effects
and high cost. 2 cups of coffee, and an extra 10 minutes of
cardio would do you better, cheaper.
