Ear Stapling for Weight Loss:
Can it be true?

Is Ear Stapling for Weight Loss for real?

The more I look into this fad to help people lose weight, the more I decide that it is actually a legitimate way to help you eat less.

And If you've read much of this site, you know that I am a fan of portion control.

To me, this just seems to be another gimmick to make money off of people that don't have the will power to take control of how much, and of what they are putting into their mouths.

The concept behind it is basically the same as most weight loss pills.
It is a stimulus that helps curb hunger.

It is a staple that is put into the ear to put pressure on 2 points known to practitioners of Acupuncture to stimulate the stomach.

I have absolutely nothing against acupuncture…

In fact I went to an acupuncturist to get help with a headache that I had a few years back that lasted for over a month, and Western Medicine Practitioners could not find a cause for, so they just kept medicating me with stronger and stronger narcotics. These didn't make the headache go away, but drugged me so bad that I couldn't function due to now 2 reasons.
The increasing headaches and the Drugs.
Acupuncture was able to relieve the symptoms far better than these narcotics, but it did not cure the cause.
That was done by a chiropractor.

Anyways,
What I'm getting at, is that Acupuncture has a long history of helping with a variety of ailments, and thousands of years of research and practice behind it.
The points of the nervous system that affect different parts of the body have been well mapped out.

If you feel that you have a need to use a crutch to help you with eating less, in order to consume less calories, then Ear Stapling for Weight Loss may be something to look into.

BUT…
Please, Please, Please go to a well trained practitioner of Acupuncture and discuss with them what you are asking to have done, what the concepts are behind what they are going to do to you, and how to reduce the chances of infection.

You are going to end up with a small, very sharp piece of metal in your ear.
It will be stuck through cartilage, which is not known for its ability to fight infection should it occur.

DO NOT push on the staples and keep the areas around them VERY clean.

I, personally, cannot recommend Ear Stapling for Weight Loss.
Even though I have no reason to believe that it is a completely bogus weight loss method.

My thoughts on this are,
That if you use Ear Stapling for Weight Loss ...

What is going to happen when they come out?
You will not have developed any more self control, though you may have lost a few pounds by eating less, and you are going to put the weight right back on, and probably a few extra to go with it.

Develop the habits that are necessary to permanently change your weight, and these types of Fad procedures become completely unnecessary. Yet still lead to a Fast Weight Loss Diet

The 7 Habits of Weight Loss, are really the 7 Habits of Good Health. Philip Kustner
