Increase Metabolism and build Habit forming exercise.

This is about habit forming exercise.
Finding the little things in life that increase metabolism.

A Gym workout routine is not a requirement for weight loss. But it can be a part of a healthy eating and fitness strategy. Or you can start your own free exercise programs.

The Best Weight Loss Exercise program is the one that you actually do.

GET MOVING! Is my fitness strategy.
A number of things burn energy.
Just lying still and breathing burns calories.
Lean muscle burns more calories at rest than fat.
Moving burns MORE energy.

Moving,
Hmmmm.

What does Phil mean by moving?

Do a little bit more, all of the time to increase metabolism.
Well, the start of a habit begins with something, any thing.
You don't have to take up running to lose weight

Pick up the house.
Scrub the baseboards.
Learn to Juggle
Mow the lawn with a push mower, and using a hand edger.
Pick the FIRST AVAILABLE parking spot, and walk to your destination.
Take the stairs instead of the elevator.
Put a basket on your bike and do daily groceries.
Begin Walking to Lose Weight, you can do this with a treadmill exercise program.
Run around on the lawn with your kid/dog/nephew/neighbor for 30 minutes (that's a workout routine)

Enjoy the benefits of bike exercise
Play Video Games
Start a Television Workout Routine
Start ANY number of Workout Routines
Begin a Trampoline exercise program
Start out using just these Core Exercises
Begin Weight Lifting
Pick one of these:

I'm sure you can add a few more ways to increase metabolism of your own, as well.

There are also other major benefits of physical exercise.

If you go out and blow a large sum of expendable (or not) income on a home gym, or gym membership, and then you can't make it there the 3 - 5 days a week you promised yourself, you feel a major sense of guilt, frustration, and just down right nasty feelings about yourself. Start Simple with a basic weight loss exercise program.

Seriously!
Just make a commitment to yourself that you are going to keep an eye out for ways that you can do things that will increase what you burn (Increase Metabolism) with a minimal impact on your existing life. It's about finding the Best Weight Loss Exercise Program For You

Really, what is the loss of taking a few extra minutes, several times a day to do something right for you?

Heck, in the case of stairs. For 2 or 3 floors, it is generally a time saver.

Take Control of how you live your life, and increase your metabolism.

I'm a big fan of the movie "What About Bob" and the concept of baby steps.

Let's take it one thing at a time.

This is not a sprint, it is a marathon. We aren't going to train for it overnight, nor complete it without working for it.

If you want to go for an exercise program. DO NOT let me stop you!

Getting your heart rate up, and building lean muscle, are how you increase metabolism.

If you really love rollerblading in the park, and want to do it 3 evenings a week.
Run with it.

If you want to go pump weights at the gym, or take on an aerobics regiment.
AWESOME!

These are Excellent ways to Increase Metabolism.

But LOOK BEFORE YOU LEAP.
Any sudden MAJOR change in how you use your muscles is going to cause discomfort, and, sometimes actual damage.

Heck, I'm a complete 8 to 5 'er,
And I decided this weekend to allow more than the normal amount of Daddy climbing by my 5 year old, and practically every muscle in my body is aching.
It was a lot of fun, but the muscles are not accustomed to it. Different angles, much larger weight.
I did probably do a little bit of the good kind of muscle ripping, and will build more lean muscle in its repair, thus improving my ability to burn more calories.

I have in the past been a complete aerobics fanatic. I have also done biking, blading, and climbing as forms of exercise during the years that I was the fittest I could be.
They are all wonderful forms of exercise that just build beautifully lean muscle, which will increase metabolism.
I also love waterskiing, but it is a rather expensive sport, and am not currently able to enjoy it for assorted reasons.

Today, I am relegated to working at getting away from a desk and keyboard more often so I can go get more physical.

So, I resort to just burning more calories where I can.

Hmmm, Maybe I should get a Wii...
